Outdoor autumn adventures by the numbers: 2 wheels, 4 wheels, 2 legs or 4 legs options
Choose your adventure at Grand Geneva this fall
Crisp autumn breezes are about to sneak up on us and Lake Geneva’s Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is offering a variety of ways for guests to get outside and enjoy the upcoming fresh fall air and incredible Midwest fall foliage. Of course, guests can simply walk around the resort’s stunning glacier-carved 1,300 acre campus, but here are other fun ways to get around and explore popular Wisconsin country roads when you want (and need) to take a break from remote working and virtual learning. And don’t forget to keep an eye on the Wisconsin Fall Color Report for optimal leaf-looking opportunities. Choose an adventure:
On two wheels:
Feel the wind in your hair as you zip around the rustic roads of southeast Wisconsin on a scooter. Rent one for a few hours or take a guided tour around the area with Lake Geneva Scooter Tours and Rentals at Grand Geneva. If you can ride a bike, you can drive a scooter. You only need a valid driver’s license and some quick on-site instruction before you’re on your way. Scooters are available for rent via the resort’s Adventure Center.
On four wheels:
Enjoy a classic experience. Grand Geneva has teamed up with classic car rental company, American Classic Rental (ACR), to offer guests the opportunity to rent and drive popular American cars from the 1940’s through 1970’s. Guests can social distance in style in the fresh air and explore the open Wisconsin country roads in some of America’s most popular vintage vehicles.
The resort’s lineup of cars includes a 1969 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow; 1980 Chevrolet Corvette; 1965 Shelby Cobra Tribute; 1968 Pontiac GTO; 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W-30l; 1965 Ford Mustang and more. Cars may be booked online in advance and are available through the resort’s Adventure Center.
On four legs:
Located on the resort campus, Dan Patch Stables prides itself in creating a fun, safe equine experience for all ages to go horseback riding. From pony rides for the kids to peaceful carriage rides for couples and families, the staff are dedicated to providing an experience you'll remember for years to come. The 45-minute guided trail rides offer a scenic view of hundreds of acres of the beautiful Grand Geneva property.
Golf on four wheels:
Love fall golf? Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is home to two award-winning 18-hole championship courses, The Highlands, a Scottlish link style course, and The Brute, rated one of the best in the Midwest.
And there’s a fun way to get around the golf course with the easy-to-ride GolfBoard. Golfers can upgrade their traditional golf cart rental for one of these electronic vehicles during their round. The GolfBoard allows players of all ages the ability to “Surf the Earth” from shot-to-shot in a way that feels like snowboarding or surfing making it possible to play the game at a faster pace. This experience is available for an additional $20 per round. Advance reservations are recommended.
On two legs + a bathing suit:
Don’t hang up the bathing suits just yet. Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark offers several fun fall family offerings. The all-suite resort with private kitchen space is perfect for a family in need of a new virtual learning space (and break).
Enjoy these outdoor adventures and more. Plus, take a delicious break at one of the resort’s several restaurants and dining facilities, each offering new seasonal fall dining menus. And don’t forget to leave some time to unwind from the daily adventures with a trip to the resort’s acclaimed Well Spa + Salon.
