Learn To Ride

We've teamed with the Burton’s Learn to Ride (LTR) program! Burton’s Learn to Ride is designed to make learning to snowboard fun and easy by combining proven teaching methodologies with beginner-specific equipment. As part of the Learn To Ride program, Squaw is offering specially designed equipment for beginner snowboarders (both kids and adults). Burton’s LTR teaching methodologies help new riders to learn to make and connect their turns faster – making for a great first time experience on the hill!

Ski Cam

Snow Sports School at The Mountain Top

Provides a safe and fun learning experience for skiers and snow boarders of all ability levels. One hour private, semi-private and group lessons are available. PSIA certified instructors are trained on the latest skiing techniques and offer individual attention to encourage both beginners and advanced students.

Snow Cubs

Snow Cubs

A 1.5 hour program specially designed with our youngest guests in mind. Children 3 – 6 years are introduced to skiing or snowboarding in a controlled setting under the supervision of a professionally trained instructor. The Sunkids Carpet area will be utilized as the child progresses. Children are enrolled for a single session. Students are required to wear helmets at all lessons.

Mountain Mites

Snow Cubs

Mountain Mites is designed especially for children 6 – 14 years of age. Kids learn skills under the supervision of professionally trained instructors, using a specialized teaching system. Mountain Mites is fun for all! Beginners to advanced students; children spend a lot of time on the snow having a great time and becoming better skiers or snowboarders.

Mountain Mites is a series of three week sessions on Saturdays or Sundays throughout January and February. Classes begin promptly and run 11 am – 2:30 pm. Students are placed in class based on age and ability level. Helmet use is mandatory.

2018 Sessions

Session 1: Saturday, January 6, 13 and 20
Session 2: Sunday, January 7, 14 and 21
Session 3: Saturday, February 10, 17 and 24
Session 4: Sunday, February 11, 18 and 25

NEW Winter Adventure Camp

Intermediate Skiers and Snowboarders will enjoy a fun filled supervised day on the slopes riding, sledding, and ice skating. Including lunch and hot chocolate breaks that will keep them warm and energized while Mom and Dad make a run or enjoy other activities Grand Geneva offers.

  • 10am-3pm, every Saturday and Sunday
  • 6-8 years old and 9-12 years old
  • $95 per person
  • Rental equipment available for an additional $10

Must be able to ride the chair lift independently. Limited availability, reservations preferred.

Beginner Group Lessons:

Are you a first time skier or snowboarder? Then participate in a 1 hour group lesson, geared specifically towards beginners. Our trained staff will guide you through the learning process and make sure you enjoy your first run down the slopes. Must be 7 years old to participate in a group lesson.

Beginner Ski Lesson $25 per person
Beginner Snowboard Lesson $25 per person


Beginner Class Times:

All lessons begin promptly at the designated snowsports meeting place. Please allow enough time (45 to 60 minutes) to purchase lift ticket, obtain rentals and use the restroom before going to the meeting location. Due to the number of participants, we are not able to accommodate late arrivals. Refunds will not be issued.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays* - 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, & 6pm
Monday - Thursday - 12:30pm, 2pm, 4pm, & 6pm

Private Lessons

Reservations for private lessons can be made two weeks in advance by calling the Snowsports School at (262) 245-7516.
Private Lesson - $60 per hour
Additional participants - $30 per person

Additional participants must ski/snowboard at the same ability level and must be at least 7 years of age. Maximum of 3 participants.
