Commonly Asked Questions & Answers
Which course is better?
“Both courses are excellent. The Brute is a true Wisconsin style championship course, yet playable to all players depending on which tees you play. The Highlands is a Scottish style links course and has been designed to be playable by all types of players. It is really a matter of personal preference and what suits your playing style.”
What is the difference between the two courses?
“The Highlands is a Scottish Link style course with narrow rolling fairways. The Brute is rated as one of the best courses in the Midwest. It has a more traditional PGA style layout with long wide fairways and surrounds our lake.”
I don’t want a golf cart. Can I walk the course?
“Everyone playing golf on Grand Geneva’s courses must take a golf cart. This keeps the pace of play flowing and prevents groups of players being held up. A unique feature to our carts is GPS system that gives you yardage and course information on your cart. The cost of the golf cart is included in the greens fee.”
Can my wife ride along?
“During times when we are almost sold out, we discourage ride alongs and we need to get approval from our Director of Golf or Head Professional. It is our aim to fully sell every tee time. During quieter periods the ride along fee is $25.00 to cover the cost of the cart.”
Can we get something to eat there?
“Yes. We have the Links Bar and Grill here next to the pro shop which serves American style breakfast and lunch items, snacks and drinks. The Beverage Cart service is available for drinks out on the course and there is a cooler on each golf cart if you wish to stock up on drinks before heading out on the course.”
Can we have a group of 5?
“We are unable to accommodate groups of 5. There are only 2 golf carts available for each tee time. We would divide you into a group of 3 and a twosome and you would be allocated two separate tee times. It is our aim to fill every tee time so if another twosome wished to golf at the same time you would be put together.”
Can we have the tee time to ourselves?
“It is our aim to fill every tee time. The only way to guarantee having the tee time to yourself is to pay for all 4 places.”
What if it rains?
“If you are on the course and rain forces you off the course the following applies:
|Holes 1-4:||18 holes rain check is issued|
|5 or more holes||Prorated based on fee paid|
Golf management reserves the right to determine the play conditions and the issuing of rain checks. The Director of Golf and the Head Professional has 45 minutes in which to access the weather and course conditions. Special rain checks for golf packages are available please call the golf shop for details.
If it is raining when you are due to tee off you should wait until a decision is made to close the course or not. You will not be charged if the course is closed prior to you checking in. If you have already checked in and paid and then the course is announced closed, your round of golf will be rescheduled and a 18 hole rain check issued.
Do you have an early bird special?
“Yes during In Season rates only it is Monday thru Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. otherwise we have the afternoon specials.
I am playing as a single. Is this a problem?
“We don’t normally allow people out on the course by themselves. We will pair you with a 2 or 3 some that is already booked.”
